RPGaDay2026 – Pride
Thanks to Autocratik and Runeslinger for bringing RPGaDay together, this year and over the past decade. I appreciate everything that you and your many contributors have brought to the hobby.
This year, it has been an invaluable diversion and helped my staggering and stumbling mental wellbeing no end. I’m sorry to say that 2026 has not been good for me.
Wrought By Sanction
The distraction of RPGaDay has provided an ideal platform for some ashcan Sanction RPG goodness. Not throwaway, because I will return here and seek to develop each of these Genre Setups further, when I find the time. But, the process has allowed me to dip in and out with ideas driven solely by random prompts, which has made the creative push both specific and sort of without focus.
Focus is not my companion at the moment.
Sanction was written, at first, for The Dee Sanction, to allow me to bring Elizabethan supernatural espionage to the wider world. And then it has been developed as an ideal tool for running with ideas. It’s a house system. And it became the generic system it is because of the people who support me, who run alongside me, who chat with me, who ask me what I’m working on next.
Today’s prompt is Pride, and that’s what I feel. I feel really happy that other people embrace what I have created and show their appreciation.
In turn, I feel immense satisfaction and happiness when you take something I have created and run with it, doing your own thing. I hope that you will find value in reading the articles of the last four weeks and maybe pick up the published books, so that you can indulge in personal acts of creation or just play out one of these ideas yourself for a while.
Thank you for your support. It means the world to me.

What source of Pride have you discovered in the course of play or character creation? I look forward to reading about it in your RPGaDay post.
