RPGaDay 2026
Next Saturday is 01 August. That means RPGaDay, for those who participate in such pursuits.
boreders has been home to my efforts in the past, and every year I have tried to prepare by getting posts completed in advance. It works, sometimes. Otherwise, you tend to notice, as a reader, that the posts get shorter and more breathless by the latter half of the month.
This year, Anthony (Runeslinger) Boyd and David (Autocratik) Chapman have gathered a load of one-word prompts, with some weekly and day-of-the-week variations for the adventurous.
According to Dave, Runeslinger had suggested using the prompts to create characters. I can’t quite see myself doing that, primarily because 99.9% of my RPG collection currently resides in packing boxes in preparation for a house move. You might point firmly and stern-faced at my computer storage and correctly suggest that I have most of that collection, and more, in PDF form. In return, I shall ignore you.

What I plan to do instead is focus on Sanction Resources—both Resources as characteristics for core character gen, but also resources with a small “r” as tools, mechanics and so forth. In the process of doing that, I hope to find some focus, generate some fresh ideas, and provide new material for those who have picked up Sanction in any form (core, Dee, or otherwise).
For those with the urge to read more about Sanction, the Bundle—of core rules and several Genre Setups—remains on sale, at close to half price, on DriveThruRPG. The Bundle offers a great way to see the ruleset and get an idea of how flexible it can be.
Return next weekend for my RPGaDay kick-off, or try something all of your own by getting the lowdown from Autocratik.
