The question is: Favourite Convention Module / One-Shot I run a lot of these. It’s my dominant involvement in the hobby — or certainly has been over the last decade or so. You cannot really go too wrong with something like a Dungeon Crawl Classic‘s Funnel adventure. A Funnel provides the meat-grinder approach to taking a…
The original question was: Favourite Convention Purchase In what I suspect was 2005, I went to a gaming convention in Cambridge. At the time, I was freelancing on PARANOIA XP and working on The Underplex, which was one of the reasons that I attend this event loosely in the company of Allen Varney. He was…
The original question was: Most Memorable Character Demise But, I would caveat that it feels more impactful than memorable, mostly because my memory of the details is pretty ropey. When Warhammer Fantasy Role Play first came out in 1986, Games Workshop supported it with some great material in White Dwarf. Many of the adventures that…
Today’s question is: Old Game You Still Play I bet a lot of people have referenced the publication date over the edition. I mean, I know there aren’t rules to RPGaDAY – it’s for fun, right (right?!) – but most folk who say D&D won’t be playing out of the white books from the 70s….
Today’s question is: Weirdest Game You’ve Played I genuinely don’t remember the mission. I know I GM’d the session, so I’m responsible for the situation as it unfolded. PARANOIA. I definitely chose to ramp up the slapstick mode in this mission, and that seems the sole focus of my memory. It would have been 1991…
The RPGaDay question for today is: Favourite tie-in fiction First of all, I pondered how much fiction there is out there that springs forth from a game system or setting. And there’s quite a lot, I guess. D&D aside, there is fiction from PARANOIA, Delta Green, Dragon Age and others on my shelf. All good…
The question is: Favourite Dice The only special dice I possess that might warrant the term favourite are my Dragon Age dice. These are not Dragon Age dice. These are the dice that I play with when I run Dragon Age. As part of Green Ronin’s AGE system, Dragon Age has stunts, and these depend…
The original question was: Favourite Character And I’m going to bastardise this one slightly by referencing more than one character and none of them are mine. So… Favourite Character(s) Ayrton Fellowes, Dane Crowther, Ethan Burroughs, and Graham Giuradanda made up the team sent to Manhattan to investigate a missing woman and the astounding nightmare in…
The original question was: Smartest RPG You’ve Played I would say, in general, it has been the game and adventures played with my local gaming group. As a band of people with busy lives and hectic schedules, the Stockport Unorganised Role Players provided a great opportunity to play a lot of different games all the…
